Name: Loki Laufeyson
Canon Point: #645, end of the series.
History: wiki
Personality: Loki can't recall specifically what he did in his former life, but he knows there are very valid and real reasons why he is Asgard's least favorite prince. He's clever enough that even at this age, he can piece together what he did without Thor or the others filling him in on the horrible acts. Though Thor is quick to reassure him that those deeds were in the past and he has a true chance at redeeming his name.
And with that reassurance, that faith placed in him, that is what Loki has set out to do. That doesn't mean he has no doubts at all about himself. Loki finds himself wondering often throughout the series if he'll wind up the same evil trickster his former self had been. The name of the game is change or die though and Loki is giving it his all to do it.
It's a new found desire to do right and a conscience that keeps him on the path. Even if it's just Thor, he still has one person who means the world to him and that he would hate terribly to let down.
That said, Loki is still Loki. He's the God of Mischief and still very much a trickster. If he is to be good or help others, then he comes to realize it has to be done in a very Loki way. He isn't Thor, he isn't like the other Asgardians. At the age, he is not equipped with brute strength or knowledge of a battlefield. He's got a sharp tongue and a talent to be clever with his words though.
So when he lies and uses trickery, it's always to lend a helping hand. It's always to do good, even if things may eventually come back to haunt him or if he has to do seemingly bad things to for the greater good. In this way though, he is very much a gullible child. His lies and tricks have been used against him, have blown up in his face, many times.
Another notable difference from his former self is how this Loki isn't burdened with any dislike of Thor. There's true adoration and fondness for his older brother who has never given up on him. After all, Thor is the only one who has loved or protected him a lot of the time. He is even foolish enough to place his faith in Loki, even when Loki lacks it in himself. It's something that Loki truly appreciates though and shows it often.
As stated, this Loki still has a lot of growing up to do. His rebirth left him probably no older than fourteen and it certainly shows. He can be childish and annoying (a skill which he actually prides himself on occasionally). Like most kids, he's also curious about everything -- particularly technology. He's developed a love of the internet and pop culture thanks to his Starkphone. He frequently uses it to take pictures of his antics (and posts bad selfies and other photos online... even at the risk of being called a troll!). He downloads movies, music, and anything else that catches his interest. He can also be very cocky and sassy when the mood strikes, keeping a tongue almost as sharp as his older self's.
Or that's what he'd like to think anyway.
For all his lack of faith in his destiny or his own goodness, Loki can be arrogant in other ways. He's often referred to his own good looks, skills, and how very cool he is. The reality is though, he's nowhere near as cool as he thinks he is. He also kind of fails with girls, regardless of that pretty face that he boasts about.
Being a trickster means he's still quite the expert liar. He can still coerce others into doing what he wants. He's still got a bad habit of covering up things he's done whether they were for the good of all or not, only confessing if there's not any other options.
Loki also has his intelligence. He picks things up very quickly and never really has a problem with learning his way around thing. He's a quick study, although like most kids, he can be prone focusing more on Midgardian pop culture and technology.
For all of his sometimes overwhelming personality and similarities to his former self, Loki does try to make better choices and genuinely cares about those closest to him. He even cares about those who hate him in that he doesn't want to see them die or anything.
Being hated can be lonely and discouraging, especially when he wants so much to show that he's changed, but Loki doesn't give up. He picks himself up and doesn't give in to self-pity. Thor has told him that one day, he will be accepted and all he can do is keep trying.
Skills | Powers: While after his rebirth, he lost most of his powers, he does still retain some useful ones. Those include:
Superhuman strength - Loki is substantially stronger than humans.
Superhuman durability - He is able to withstand falls from great heights, powerful impacts, and exposure to extreme temperatures without much injury.
Healing factor - Loki is able to recover much quicker than humans.
Superhuman stamina - Loki can go for longer without sleep or rest than a human would be able.
Longevity - Loki is a God and like all gods, he has a long lifespan, though he is hardly entirely immortal. He can be killed.
One of his greatest weaknesses is losing his ability to do most any magic or sorcery, which makes him rely on others to aid him. Being a boy means he is not entirely able to fight or defend himself. He lacks most of the kills his older self had beyond being a quick study and skilled liar.
First Person Sample: Citizens of Tartarus, I require your assistance posthaste! [Loki is not unfamiliar with such technology and being a quick study, he has figured it out rather quickly if he does say so himself. It isn't so different from his Pad of I anyway. He appears on the camera, his cheek just beneath his eye is bloody, and he looks slightly disheveled after being dropped off at the docks. He is putting on as brave of a face as he is able though. This isn't his first trip to a dark, creepy underworld after all.
Nor is it truly the first time he has had to act in an manner entirely different from how he feels. Ah, the life of a trickster reborn was not always so simple.]
I am Loki of Asgard, and I am in terrible need of a bandaid. [That demeanor of his changes slightly. After all, he is still a boy and he is still alone in a dangerous place. He isn't entirely unused to the latter, though it is never an amazing feeling and even less so when he is trapped. He dearly wishes he could reach Thor or the All-Mother in some way.] A guide to somewhere safer would also be very much appreciated. I have heard some of the most worrisome sounds at these docks and would like to leave really soon. Preferably, a place with bacon or the Midgardian treat of shaken milk as I am also very hungry, but a room to rest in would be just as helpful.
Third Person Sample: Loki was curious by nature and that curiosity may yet get him killed. He should not be wandering the forest on his own, with little more than a knife. While his older self may have been capable of fighting and protecting himself if need be, Loki's body was small and too frail to be on the battlefield, particularly without his magic. Still, he soldiered on through the unsettling scenery, his senses keen and locked on any potential noise that meant he should run and run fast. The deeper he went, the more danger that he would face and he knew that.
Still, it was something to do when he was faced with a potential eternity trapped in this underworld, facing all manner of torture anyway. He was told that even if he did die, it would not last. Though no one should misunderstand -- he wasn't looking to see an early grave or be left to dig himself out of the ground! That would be decidedly most uncool. And verily, Loki was cool. Too cool to die at the hand of creepy forest monsters! Particularly when he had legs strong enought to carry him in the other direction.
But it was useful to know what sort of monsters lurked out here, what they did and where they were from. It was a distraction anyway. He was homesick, as much as he tried to deny it. He missed his brother most of all and at times like this, he missed his strength as well. Thor would care enough to protect him, the sweet oaf. Although going home meant certain non-existence for him, so perhaps he houldn't miss it at all. It was like that saying went, he was stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Home is where his older, evil self would overwrite him, replace him, and here he faced unmentionable horrors daily. For all his change and attempts to do good for everybody, his reward was certainly less than phenomenal. If he allowed it, he would be terribly sad over it all.
Or terribly bitter.
But that way led to the old Loki and he would be damned if he would ever become like him.
